ST. LOUIS (April 27, 2022) – The Doe Run Company (Doe Run) donated $5,000 to replace older equipment and assist the Viburnum Police Department with efforts to increase officer safety.

The donation will be used to purchase new computers and prisoner cages for patrol cars, radio consoles, dash cams, and body cameras. These items will help protect the officers and the community.

“Having updated equipment is crucial to the safety of our officers, as well as the public,” said Chief Hershel Shipman. “We are grateful for Doe Run’s support to help us do our job of protecting the community to our greatest ability.”

Located in Iron County, Missouri, the Viburnum Police Department serves the residents of Viburnum and includes two full-time officers.

“A large part of our Doe Run operations are located in the Viburnum Trend. It’s especially important for us to help keep our employees, their families and our neighbors safe,” said Brian Mangogna, vice president – mining and milling at Doe Run. “It’s reassuring to know that the officers of the Viburnum Police Department are well equipped to respond when there is an emergency.”
